Exploration boost for WA

An additional $5 million of funding for the Western Australian State Government’s Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS) was announced today by WA Premier Mark McGowan and Minister of Mines Bill Johnston.
The increase in funding for the EIS to $15 million in 2020-21, will mean an extra $3 million being available across the next two co-funded drilling rounds. The Co-funded Exploration Drilling Programme offers up to a 50% refund for suitable innovative greenfield exploration drilling projects, capped at specific amounts.
“The exploration industry underpins our resource sector and the State Government’s investment in exploration will help our industry to bounce back quicker post-COVID19 and support the economic recovery of the State and country,” Association of Mining & Exploration Companies chief executive Warren Pearce said.
