COVER STORY: It seemed like a run of the mill take-over bid when first announced, but Eastern Goldfields junior Dioro Exploration NL is spurning the attentions of persistent suitor Avoca Resources Ltd. Already riding high on the success to date of its Higginsville operations south of Kalgoorlie, Avoca can see a glittering future ahead and it wants to get there sooner rather than later. NORTON GOLDFIELDS: Managing director Jon Parker described the Paddington operation bought by Norton Goldfields Ltd in late 2007 as one of the "most extraordinary opportunities" he had seen in his career. The company went in with high hopes and big plans to make Paddington the mainstay of its plans for many years to come. It hasn't all been smooth sailing, but last month the company took a major step forward with the official opening of its Homestead underground decline.
